Who it is for

Organizations with reporting worth keeping

  • Data leads running Clarity and Caboodle reporting who have been told Fabric is coming and want the move to respect what already works.
  • BI and analytics directors who have capacity, or a mandate to buy it, and no architecture yet.
  • CIOs and CDAOs who want a fixed price for the first step and a written methodology to hold it to.
  • Healthcare software vendors whose customers are asking how the product fits a Fabric estate.

What it stands up

A foundation, layer by layer

Five layers, each with an owner, and governance applied to all of them. Nothing here is a slide; every layer is something you can open in the tenant when the engagement ends.

The Fabric foundation, with governance applied to every layer.

Deliverables

What you get

How it runs

Four phases

  1. Assess what you run today

Extracts, data marts, reports, refresh schedules, and who depends on what. The foundation is sized from this, not from a template.

  2. Stand up capacity and workspaces

Capacity sized for the reporting workload, development, test, and production workspaces, deployment pipelines, and naming that survives turnover.

  3. Build the lakehouse and the first shared model

Ingestion from your existing extracts, layering matched to real use, and one governed semantic model with a named owner.

  4. Move reports, apply governance, hand off

The first reports connect to the shared model and retire from the old estate. Ownership, certification, and reuse rules are in the tenant before the hand-off.

Price and scope

Fixed fee, fixed scope

The price is fixed and stated here. So is what the engagement does not include, so nobody discovers the boundary halfway through.

The methodology is public

Read the Handbook first

Fabric Foundations follows the Fabric Foundations Handbook, published on this site in full. If your team can run it without Syntrix, that is a fine outcome. If you would rather have it done with someone who has run it before, that is the engagement.

Next step

Start with a conversation about your estate

Bring what you know about your extracts, your reports, and your capacity. The first conversation establishes whether the fixed scope fits.
